LES PRINCIPAUX PROBLEMES D’INEFFICIENCE DES BANQUES DE LA COMMUNAUTE ECONOMIQUE ET MONETAIRE DE L’AFRIQUE CENTRALE (CEMAC)

L'objectif de cette recherche est d’apprécier l’efficience technique des banques tout en identifiant les facteurs internes influençant son niveau sur les banques. Pour atteindre cet objectif, une méthodologie en deux étapes a été utilisée. La première, portant sur la méthode de frontière stochastique (SFA), a permis d’apprécier l’efficience, et la seconde, portant sur le modèle Tobit, a permis l’estimation des facteurs d’inefficience des banques de la CEMAC sur une période allant de 2004 à 2017. Sur la base des estimations réalisées, les résultats obtenus montrent que les banques de la CEMAC sont inefficientes en termes de coûts. Les résultats suggèrent également que le ratio de prêts/actifs (RPA), la taille des banques (LTA) et le ratio crédits/dépôts (RCD) sont les sources d’inefficience des banques de la CEMAC. Ces résultats impliquent que les banques de la CEMAC se trouvent dans l’obligation d’améliorer leur méthode d’évaluation des prêts accordés aux emprunteurs et fournir des efforts, notamment en matière de maîtrise des coûts des inputs.
